BORN FROM PAIN Singer Undergoes Eye Surgery, Is Forced To Sit Out Shows

May 29, 2009

Dutch hardcore metallers BORN FROM PAIN have issued the following update:

"As some of you might have heard already, Rob [Franssen, vocals] had to face a very serious surgery on his eyes which forced him to leave our current tour with TERROR, STICK TO YOUR GUNS and TRAPPED UNDER ICE. What we know so far is that surgery went well and we all hope he can return to us in about two weeks. In the meantime, everybody on this tour wishes him all the best for his recovery!

"For the time being, David [Wood] from TERROR, a.k.a. singer for DOWN TO NOTHING, is more than willing to fill in for Rob, making sure we don't have to cancel any of the upcoming shows. Much appreciated; thank you very much, David! Also, big thanks to Martín, Chucky, Courtney, Justice, Scott and Brendan who were crazy enough to jump in on such a short notice and made Schweinfurt and Prague see a crazy special BORN FROM PAIN set!"

"Sons Of A Dying World", the latest video from BORN FROM PAIN, can be viewed below. The track comes off the band's most recent album, "Survival", which was released in Europe on November 3 via Metal Blade Records (except Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, where it arrived on October 31). The CD is said to be "musically [as] uncompromising as ever with an own twist in groove, melody, heaviness and harshness. Lyrically, [it is] more than ever making a critical and uncompromising stand concerning the state of the world today."
